£25,000 worth of damage after arson at Springtown firm

Police are treating the fire at a Springtown Industrial Estate clothing recycling business which caused £25,000 worth of damage as arson.

At around 11.30pm last night seven fire and rescue vehicles from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service attended an incident at the North West Textile Recyclers depot on Disc Drive in the Springtown Industrial Estate. Three containers packed with clothing were ablaze.

The containers, which were valued at £3,500, were completely destroyed. The clothing contained within them was worth £13,000.

Police at Strand Road have appealed for anyone with information on the incident to contact them at Strand Road on 0845 600 8000.
