£70,000 worth of equipment stolen from Derry industrial estate

Over £70,000 worth of equipment was stolen from Newbuildings Industrial Estate in a spate of burglaries over the weekend.

At 9.20am this morning, it was reported that damage had been caused to BT cables connected to premises alarms at the entrance to this industrial estate. Approximately £1,000 worth of damage was caused.

Twenty minutes later it was reported that premises within the industrial estate had been broken into sometime between 5pm on Saturday 7 January and 9.30am on Sunday, 8 January.
Approximately 14 boat propellors, measuring from 24" to 60" & with approximate value between £45,000 and £50,000 , were stolen from premises.

At approximately 11.25am on Sunday it was reported that another premises within the industrial estate had been broken into overnight and a grass tracking motor bike, value not known, an IFor Williams black horse box, Model HB 511, valued at approximately £6,000 and a white VW Crafter van, with the words 'Doherty's insulation services' stencilled on the side and rear, Registration P16 PJD, valued at approximately £15,000 were stolen.
