A new campaign launched by the PSNI and Policing and Community Safety Partnerships (PCSPs) is encouraging the public to be more aware of dangers from burglars.

Approximately one third of domestic burglaries across Northern Ireland are committed because home owners leave doors and windows open.

Burglars also appear to be targeting the elderly more than before. Between April and June, in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area, domestic burglary against older people has increased by 13.3% compared to last year.
