Sdlp Cllr Angela Dobbins has urged businesses and residents to be more vigilant of their property and vehicles.
This follows a burglary in the Magnet Bar in the Culmore area of the city early hours of Monday morning.
“I believe that the intruders knew what they needed to do as they came well prepared to gain access and were in and out within minutes, five game machines were stolen.
I’ve also been contacted by a resident to inform me that bolted gates into the rear of her property had been opened.
I stress to everyone in the area, both businesses and residents to be aware of stranger activity in the area and if they see anything unusual to contact the PSNI and report it.
I would also ask residents to be extra aware of their more vulnerable neighbours and check in on them from time to time.
This is very worrying that this type of activity has become very widespread but somewhat on a regular timeframe.
