Culmore Horticultural Society is holding its Annual Village Show on Saturday 17th August at 2.00 pm in Hollybush School Ardan Road Culmore.
The show has been going since 1880, stopping only during the world wars. Organised by committee members, Dorothy Rutherford, Collette Craig and Angela Dobbins and a strong membership team, it has gone from strength to strength.
Competition for flowers and flower arrangements, pot plants, vegetables and fruit, cakes, scones, jams, art and photography are widely supported for the coveted trophies awarded to each category winner.
The entries in the children’s competitions has increased in previous years.
Entries are accepted Friday 16th 7pm - 9pm and Sat 9am- 11am. Winners will be announced during the afternoon and trophies presented. There will also be a raffle and an auction of fresh vegetable and home baking produce at the end of the show.
Admission is £3 /adults, children free and includes Afternoon Tea with homemade scones and tray bakes.
