THE NATIONAL THEATRE IS COMING TO THE PLAYHOUSE IN APRIL 2017.

This is a major exclusive for us and an unbelievable coup for the city. This is the first chance to see a brand new National Theatre production on a Derry-Londonderry stage and on a subject that couldn't be more prevalent in the news and one that deeply effects all of our futures here.

The National Theatre has collaborated with the Derry Playhouse for the first time to create “My Country; a work in progress”, a new play inspired by the recent EU Referendum.  It will be presented at the Derry Playhouse, from 4th – 8th April 2017 as part of a UK tour following its current run at the NT’s Dorfman Theatre in London.

The show has been moulded by Poet laureate Carol Ann Duffy from interviews from actual people in the North West and border towns, to create a warm, insightful and often surprisingly funny look at our modern society.
