Regional Development Minister Danny Kennedy has announced there will be a public meeting in Derry on 28th February as part a DRD consultation on future railway investment.

The meeting will take place in the City Hotel at 12 noon.

The Minister said: “Railways investment involves significant capital expenditure, with lengthy planning and construction phases. Looking forward over the next 20 years, there is a need to set a strategic direction to determine the priority in which new railway projects are tackled. These public meetings will allow people to find out more about the future role of our railways as part of an integrated and sustainable transport system in Northern Ireland, to put forward their views and ask any questions they may have.”

The other meetings will be held in Belfast and Dungannon. The Belfast meeting will take place on 25 February at 12noon at Grosvenor House, 5 Glengall Street.  The Dungannon meeting will take place at the Ballysaggart Business Complex, 2 Beechvalley Way on 5 March at 12.30pm.
