The Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District, Councillor Michaela Boyle, held a special civic reception at the weekend for the Logue family, who have raised a staggering £104,000 for Clic Sargent in memory of their son Gerard.
Presenting a gift to parents Paddy and Theresa Logue, Mayor Boyle said: “I was delighted to be able to acknowledge the fundraising efforts of the Logue family, they are a fantastic example to us all.
“Sadly cancer touches the lives of everyone but by supporting charities like Clic Sargent we can help ease the burden on families and provide support when it is needed most. It’s a wonderful tribute to Paddy and Theresa’s son Gerard and a great gift to other families in need of cancer services.”
