Roads Minister Danny Kennedy has confirmed that public exhibitions on the proposed A5 dual carriageway will take place within the consultation period on the draft orders.
In response to an Assembly question this week, the Minister confirmed that these exhibitions would be spread out along the route of the proposed dual carriageway in the towns of Ballygawley, Omagh, Strabane and Derry. He confirmed that, subject to appropriate venues being available, it was proposed to hold these exhibitions over four days.
“At these exhibitions, my officials will be available to discuss the proposals in detail with affected landowners and the general public, assisted by information boards, a computer generated visualisation of the route and scheme brochures.
West Tyrone MLA Declan Mc Aleer has welcomed the announcement: “I welcome this as another important milestone in this strategic project and I encourage everyone who is interested to come along to find out more about the scheme”.
