Police investigate after defibrillator stolen in Omagh

Police in Omagh are investigating the report of a theft of a defibrillator in the town.

Constable Thom said: “It was reported that sometime between midnight on 15th May and 3:15pm today (18th May) a defibrillator was taken from its container in the Townhall Square area. 
"This type of equipment is used to benefit the wider public and fitted on an outside wall so that it can be used in an emergency.
“It is a vital piece of equipment that could mean the difference between life and death for someone. I would appeal to anyone who knows of the whereabouts of this defibrillator, or who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area, or have information about the incident to contact police at Omagh on 101 quoting 584 of 18/05/20.
“Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
