Public urged to take to the waves with Ocean Youth Trust

FANCY yourself as a sailor? Go along to the Derry Marina this week and head out on the waves with Ocean Youth Trust.

Ocean Youth Trust Ireland (OYTI) are now sailing at the Marina this week and all of next week up to July 2nd as part of the Clipper Homecoming Festival which runs from June 29th to July 8th.  Anyone who wants to try sailing is encouraged to come down and have a go.

OYTI is a Sail Training charity committed to working with young people from all backgrounds throughout Ireland. The Trust is dedicated to training the leaders of tomorrow by empowering and supporting them to succeed in one of the most challenging environments known to man - the Ocean.

Bronagh Cappa Campbell, Chief Executive of the Trust said: "Ocean Youth Trust Ireland has developed a full programme of sailing and camp opportunities for young people, adults, schools and youth based organisations that includes try sailing in June and July at Lough Foyle, Derry/Londonderry as part of the Clipper Homecoming Festival.

"There is something for everyone aged 12 years upwards this summer with Ocean Youth Trust Ireland.  No sailing experience is necessary, all safety gear and insurance is provided as well as sailing instruction that is delivered by fully qualified sailing instructors.  For details on all sailing and adventure camp opportunities visit www.oyti.org."
