Following the recent bomb attack on the courthouse on Saturday night last,  NIPSA members in Branch 47 Northern Ireland Courts and Tribunal Service have called for a short lunch time rally on Friday 25 January at 1pm in the Peace Garden on Foyle Street.

A Nipsa spokesperson said: "Luckily no one was injured or worse in the attack, however, on Monday what followed was an attack on ordinary working people going about their daily business with residents also being forced to evacuate their homes. Firstly a Northern Ireland Housing Executive contractor doing vital repairs for tenants was hijacked. This was followed by the hijacking of a Royal Mail van and a local supermarket delivery van with reports of guns being used. This attack on workers will not be tolerated, as Trade Unionists we must face down these faceless people and demand that people can go out and do a days’ work without fear of intimidation or violence."
