Police are warning that scammers are contacting Thomas Cook customers by phone or email and pretending that they need your bank details to process a refund to you.

Police warn that should any refunds become available, they would be sent directly to bank accounts - under no account give out your bank details or card numbers over the phone or online.

PSNI has used its Cookstown Facebook page to give this warning: “Sickeningly but predictably the scammers are striking on this while the iron is hot,” an officer wrote. “Your bank wont be contacting you with a refund or asking for any details."
