The Social Investment Fund is to deliver over £3m in funding for three projects in Derry.
The funding consists of £1.5million for the Brandywell, £1.2 million for Leafair Park and £600,000 for Pearse's GAC.
Welcoming the funding, Sinn Féin MLA Raymond McCartney said;
"This announcement of funding from the Social Investment Fund for three projects in Derry is good news for the city.
"Alongside approximately £1.5million for the Brandywell, £1.2 million for Leafair Park and £600,000 for Pearse's GAC have also been announced.
"A letter of offer has been sent to Derry City and Strabane District Council outlining the funding.
"This is addition to the £3.3 million already announced for the Community Work Programme and the £2.8 million for play park facilities across the city by deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness.
"That brings the total invested in Derry through the Social Investment Fund to £9 million to tackle depravation and inequality.
"The funding for the Brandywell stadium is particularly welcome for the much needed redevelopment of the facility and the wider area."
