Teenager's death – police in appeal for witnesses

Police are examining CCTV footage to determine what happened to a teenager who died after police found him unconcious in Magazine Street in Derry and have made an appeal for anyone who may have seen him to contact them.

Caolan Page, 19, from Upper Kildrum in Carrigans in Co Donegal, was discovered in the city centre street in the early hours of Saturday.

He had serious head injuries and was taken to Altnagelvin Hospital, where he later died. A post-mortem examination is being carried out today to determine cause of death. Police have appealed for anyone who may have saw Caolan in the Waterloo Place, Waterloo Street area as he made his way up to Magazine Gate to contact them. They are also keen to speak to anyone who may have saw him in the Guildhall Square, Union Place or Lower Magazine Street area. Caolan was a popular A-level student at St Columb's College. A Facebook page set up in his memory, RIP Caolan Page, has almost 6,000 likes since the news of his death was announced.
