Detectives in Foyle are appealing for information in relation to three linked burglaries in the city in recent days.

Cash was taken from the till and gaming machines in a pizza shop in Messines Terrace sometime between 1.45am and 9am on December 16th. Cash was also taken from an adjacent business. Entry was gained to a bar on the Racecourse Road around 3.15am on December 19th however nothing was taken.

Anyone with information about the incidents is asked to contact CID officers at Strand Road on 0845 600 8000.
Police say that in Derry there are fewer victims of burglary compared to last year and police detections rates have improved.

"Of course this is of little comfort to recent victims but it does show that we are doing out best to tackle this issue," said a spokesperson. "Help us by reporting suspicious activity and taking all necessary steps to protect your homes and businesses. If you are a business owner we would strongly encourage you to invest in quality CCTV coverage and alarm systems."
