DAERA has closed facilities at its forests and country parks until the end of May.

A statement said: “Visitors should plan ahead on the understanding that they won’t have access to camping facilities, cafes, museums, mobile concessions and visitor centres.” These are only the buildings, however, and the parklands themselves remain open. Parking charges have been waived during this period. The parks affected are Ness Country Park, Roe Valley Country Park, Peatlands Park, Castle Archdale Country Park, Quoile Countryside Centre, Scrabo Country Park, Redburn Country Park, and
